Unlock Your Surf Mobility & Breath Endurance
Breath Is Your Leash: Surf Strong Mobility & Breath Training at K-59 Surf Resort
There’s something special about blending training with the energy of a world-class surf destination. On my recent trip to K-59 Surf Resort in El Salvador, I had the opportunity to lead a group of surfers through a mobility and breath session right on site. This wasn’t just another workout—it was an extension of the Surf Strong for Life mission: preparing surfers 30+ to surf strong for life, whether at home or traveling to dream destinations like K-59 Surf Resort.
The session was filmed as part of a new collaboration with Edgard, owner of K-59 Surf Resort, who has built a place that’s not only about scoring waves but also about cultivating a deeper surf lifestyle. His commitment to creating an environment that supports surfers before and after they hit the water is exactly what Surf Strong for Life is about—helping surfers recover, stay mobile, and build the endurance needed for multiple sessions day after day.
👉 If you want to build the same foundations we used in this session, you can explore them step by step inside the S.U.R.F.E.R. Method.
The Surf Strong R.A.M.P. Readiness in Motion
In the video, we kicked things off with the Surf Strong R.A.M.P. — our readiness and movement prep flow. This sequence is designed to unlock tight areas, build joint mobility, and activate the muscles surfers rely on most. At K-59 Surf Resort, where long, powerful point-break sessions can leave shoulders and hips screaming, the R.A.M.P. gives surfers the tools to prep before paddling out and recover after.
The R.A.M.P. is just one piece of the bigger system I’ve created for surfers worldwide. If you’d like a clear, structured framework to follow beyond this single session, the S.U.R.F.E.R. Method was built to guide you through mobility, breath, endurance, strength, and surf integration—all in one progression.
Breath Is Your Leash
The second focus of the session was breath training. My guiding principle—breath is your leash—is something I emphasize with every surfer I coach. Just like a leash connects you to your board, your breath connects you to recovery, calm, and confidence.
At K-59 Surf Resort, we practiced simple but powerful breath protocols: push-ups with integrated breath holds to train CO2 tolerance. These drills teach surfers to stay composed when the body is under stress, just like when you’re caught inside or holding your breath after a wipeout.
When you return to your breath, you’re not just surviving a hold-down—you’re improving recovery between waves, staying preloaded with calm energy, and building confidence in and out of the water. That confidence translates directly to surfing stronger, longer, and with more presence.
👉 These same breath tools are mapped out inside the S.U.R.F.E.R. Method, so you can practice them anytime—whether you’re at your home break or halfway around the world.
Why K-59 Surf Resort
Filming this session at K-59 Surf Resort mattered because this place is more than a surf destination. Edgard has created a community hub where surfers from around the world can connect, recharge, and take their surfing deeper. Whether it’s long point breaks peeling down the coast or the quiet moments between sessions, K-59 Surf Resort is the perfect setting to showcase how mobility and breath training elevate the surf experience.
Surf Strong For Life, Wherever You Are
This collaboration with Edgard and K-59 Surf Resort represents what Surf Strong for Life is all about: helping surfers prepare, recover, and stay surf-ready for life—whether in your home routine or on a surf trip of a lifetime.
