Daytime Ambient Track
Nighttime Ambient Track
Recently my family and I moved back into a house we own on the Central Coast of California. The house has a lot of great qualities. A separate studio space for training and running Surf Strong Fit, a huge garage, good view, and I get to ride my bike to surf.
With its comes increased traffic noise though. Not terrible but more than I've gotten accustomed to over the last few years we've been living away.
So what I did was go around our town and record sounds that were soothing to my ear. Frogs, crickets, and a creek. Then I found recordings of a distant train whistle (great childhood home sound memory), white noise, birds singing (wanted my Finch namesake in there) and created two different hour long tracks.
Both have the creek, white noise as background with the train whistle sprinkled in then I added to:
Track 1 the Finch birds (for morning and day)
Track 2 the crickets and frogs (for evening and night)
I've been playing them on a loop through some outside speakers, an old iPad and mini amp I had laying around. It doesn't eliminate the traffic but it helps and makes me smile throughout the day. Especially the distant train.
Feel free to stream it to help drown out distracting noises in your neck of the woods.
